Operation Christmas Child, the Samaritan’s Purse project, collects shoebox gifts‑filled with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items—and delivers them to children in need around the world to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way. For many of these children, the gift—filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.
The vision of our Shearer Hills OCC ministry is to work together as a church body to globally demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way. We seek to accomplish this vision by working together as a church each year to send off the boxes in November. Year-around, shopping clearance aisles and internet deals, we work to collect quality items for shoeboxes at bargain prices. In October, our church family comes together to assemble the shoeboxes during the Packing Party day!
The National Collection Week for OCC boxes this year is November 15 – 22. SHBC is a drop-off location for boxes and we need volunteers to man our collection table during this week. Please click on the link below to find more information and sign up to volunteer!
